Position Description
Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is a successful, high performing organisation built on strong foundations. An independent charity, we manage the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. We help everyone to explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.We have an opportunity for a Licensing Manager to join us in a fixed term capacity covering maternity leave, to lead and manage a small team as we further expand our successful licensing programme.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be to manage and develop commercially branded licensed products, working with current partners under license, whilst maximising income for the organisation. You will also manage and develop the marketing and promotional product plan and work with the Head of department in seeking new business opportunities, targeting new categories, reaching new markets and ensuring growth across wider global markets.
Skills/Experience
This is a challenging and varied role, and proven knowledge and experience in the licensing sector, including research and brand management of the product development process, is therefore essential. Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent with experience in contract negotiation, brand and budget management as well as experience in using Image Libraries and Data Asset Management systems.
A high standard of written and verbal English, clear communication and knowledge of Copyright and Trademark are essential. Experience in managing brands in different territories including the USA and Asia markets would be desirable. This role also incorporates the overseeing of our retail consumer PR programme and trade marketing initiatives, therefore experience in these sectors would also be beneficial.
A creative approach, commercial awareness and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines are also crucial in this role. You will need to work collaboratively as part of a team with both HRP colleagues and external companies and agencies. Mircrosoft word and Excel skills are required.
