Hello Kitty was born in 1974 (thank you to VIP France for correcting us!)The brand in our view is amazing as it has endured the test of time, is instantly recognisable worldwide and generated serious revenue. We value the Sanrio Company at £603million based on yesterday’s 985 yen share price and 88,148,000 shares in issue. But the true intangible value of the company and associated brands is way higher. Happy Birthday! Does anyone have any better examples?..

according to the brand owners the brand was created in 1974 so she is not yet 50

Absolutely right! Apologies, it is Sanrio’s 50th Birthday this year. Still 36 years old isn’t bad and demonstrates great brand longevity!
